Lulu

We returned from Ireland to find a package for me from Lulu. I was soooo excited. Lulu is an online self publishing company which I am totally in love with. The book I received today was a knitting journal that I created a couple of weeks ago. See, my knitting projects were begining to stack up and I was in need of a way to keep track of what I have finished, alterations I made etc. and projects waiting to be made. To solve this problem I decided to make a book that I could record information as well as pictures and yarn samples. This is where Lulu came in. I created a pdf file using word and then uploaded it to my lulu account, then sent it for printing. Two weeks later, my hard back, 150 page book arrived from North Carolina. Fantastic. There are just a few alterations I would make to my document, mistakes that I noticed a couple of days after sending it to be printed but other than that it turned out great as you can see.

Those of you interested should check out their web site, www.lulu.com-- They do everything from black and white word documents to full color portfolios. I have looked into lots of different publishing sites and this one give you the most freedom of creation on your own, so if you are a wiz at say, photoshop you could totally create a kickin scrapbook in a multiple of sizes (workin on in), or say a full color cookbook (if you regularly receive Christmas presents from me don't even think of this idea!) I have had a great experience with lulu so far and I plan on using them again.

Here are a couple of pictures of Anya in a new hat I knit the other day. I can't show you most of the stuff I am knitting right now as there are Christmas presents but rest assured I am still knitting away. Enjoy!

Great idea, only, do you add projects as you do them like to a journal at home? By the way I love the hat.

You are amazing! I can't believe that you do these things! I told my mom and she was blown away! Then I went on to tell her all of the crazy crafts you did in college and this seems normal. She still remembers the pansy cookies!

I have a friend who mentioned Lulu because she was going to do a cookbook, but I didn't know how cool it was (and easy) to publish something. Way to go on the knitting. I used to know how, I might have to take it up again...someday. Anya is cuter than ever!

I was definitely intrigued by Lulu; I've always wanted to be published, you know! :) I love the pattern on Anya's hat!

I love that last picture of Anya, she looks like a little baby model. I want to see Adam in something you've knitted. A hand-knitted sweater for those cold UK winters would be awesome I'd imagine.

Hello....Adam

I am stalking you via the interwebs. Do you know who this is? Well it sure isn't Steve Jobs you Apple lover. If you do not respond I shall send fleas to infest the knitting that has been knitted! You shall rue, you hear me, rue the day you crossed passed with me Sandor all those years ago in the Washington DC North mission. If I could make a dramatic exit from this comments section I would but since it would not work to well I shall leave you with a slew of mysterious periods....

Oh, by the way this is Seebach.
